Emmanuelle Caplette introduces the basic sounds associated with this street instrument. The aim is to develop rhythmic and creative skills in a safe environment. Regardless of their level of skill on the instrument, all participants enjoy themselves.

The 3 points covered in the introduction to bucket drumming:

IN THE FIRST PLACE,

Emmanuelle presents a short performance of her work on the “bucket”. She then explains how she came to be a professional musician, before discussing her particular approach to interpreting different rhythms.

IN SECOND PLACE,

participants will learn popular music rhythms using a structured score. They are then invited to suggest a song excerpt and interpret its rhythm. This part is all about listening and reproducing what they hear. There’s also an interactive section with videos.

THE WORKSHOP ENDS WITH

an imitation game to challenge participants’ concentration with different dynamics.
